In Remembrance of Olden Times

I have hundreds of local postcards, they fascinate me. This one is my favorite, though. It's of the Rocksville School in Holland, with two children walking down today's Holland Rd. The author of the card was also the photographer. Lafayette Cornell Finney's family owned the general store, feed mill, and post office in the heart of Holland. The store functioned as the post office, and they would've sold these cards to local customers.

In remembrance of olden times.

Oddly, I have another card sent by Lafayette where he was asking the recipient if the image looked natural. It's rare to have a card mailed by the card maker, somehow I found two.

Does this look natural?

The first card is my favorite though. It says so much with so little.
